What should you bring to the classes?

Bring: The detailed class descriptions list any items that the instructor wants you to bring to the class. Some of the instructors suggest you bring an iPad if you have one. In other classes you may want to bring your fully charged iPad to utilize the aviation apps for charts, airport info and approaches. For day-long classes, bring a charging cable and external power pack to recharge your battery.

If you bring an iPad to the classes and want Internet access, you will need to use your own cellular data plan or personal hotspot. There is no wireless network available at the Dept. of Airports building.

You may need to bring specific charts, approach plates, FAR/AIM, an AFD, or other materials to some of the classes. If you do not already own them or have them on your iPad, they are for sale at Heidi's Pilot Shop at Western Cardinal, across the street from the Department of Airports where we hold the classes. The shop carries a wide variety of charts and aviation reference materials. The shop is open until 6 pm on weekdays and will be open during the Saturday classes.

Please Do Not Bring: pets, young children or video or audio recording devices as we do not allow them in the class.
